To find opportunities in the health and wellness space, we surveyed 1,000 Canadian adults, with representation across ages, genders and provinces, in English and French Canada, to understand their health & wellness attitudes and behaviours.

This is the 3rd of a 4 Part blog series that will introduce our Health & Wellness in Canada study. We hope you’ll find some insight that will lead to growth opportunities for your business.

  • Top 3 ways Canadians use technology for Health & Wellness – Fitness trackers, Recipes and Research.

Canadians rely on technology primarily for fitness tracking, followed by recipes and online research, with usage of each application declining slightly vs. 2023. Brands should integrate with fitness and nutrition routines to build habit and usage frequency.

  • When searching for Health & Wellness information online search, YouTube and in Person/Telephone are the top sources used by Canadians.

Online search (75%) remains the top source of information followed by YouTube (58%), In person/telephone (55%) and Government websites (53%) as Canadians lean heavily on search, video, and personal interactions for health information. Make it easy for Canadians to find your brand by showing up in search, building presence on YouTube and awareness among health & wellness professionals.

  • Canadians mainly share and discuss healthy food products via social media. Although in person/over the phone engagement is on rise.

Brands should utilize a blend of online and offline engagement, creating content designed to spark conversations in social channels and in person.
